Witty Wednesday-Why don’t spiders get caught in their own web?

Why don’t spiders get caught in their own web? Even though you don’t see if often, spiders really can get caught in  their own web. Why don’t you see it often? They are very careful with their feet. In addition to their being very careful, they have one more secret weapon that is the main reason why they don’t get caught.

On the spider’s legs, there is a type of oil that allows them to move easily across the web threads.  This oil keeps them from getting trapped on the sticky silk.
